Key Stage 2
Key Stage 2 is the final four years of primary school, between the ages of 7 – 11. During Key Stage 2, we build on the skills the children have learned during Key Stage 1. Using the National Curriculum Framework, we teach the primary subjects of English, Maths, Science, Design and Technology, Information and Communication Technology, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music and Physical Education. In addition to these, children are also taught Religious Education, French and Personal, Social and Health Education. These are taught each week, with Maths and English taught daily.
Where possible, subjects are taught as themes under the Bentley Heath Curriculum. This bespoke approach links together key skills, knowledge and understanding within a relevant and purposeful context.
We are currently undertaking a curriculum review to ensure there is a clear sequence of learning across every subject taught.
Pupils will receive homework during this Key Stage, encouraging a good dialogue between home and school, whilst equipping children with skills to extend their learning outside the classroom.
